Merchandise Manager - Crafting   Position Summary The Merchandise Manager is responsible for the selection and management of product assortments within their respective area. This role will develop, negotiate, communicate, and execute strategic merchandise plans that support the company’s overall strategy and business objectives. The Merchandise Manager fosters vendor relationships to create a culture of collaboration, productivity, and accountability.   Essential Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities - Accountable for developing and executing merchandise plans that meet or exceed financial goals including sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity. - Analyze category, vendor, product performance to recognize and react to business trends, identify risks and opportunities, and calculate future strategies. - Seek out new suppliers and products within assigned categories. - Foster strong, effective, and collaborative relationships with vendor partners to ensure product flow, drive innovation, and capture market opportunities. - Analyze competitors to compare strategies, pricing, products, etc. - Manage end-to-end product lifecycle from product development to inventory management. - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to create Omni-channel experience for customers. - Partner with internal and external designers to develop exclusive products through trend analysis and market research. - Travel to domestic trade shows to select merchandise assortments and source items. - Establish and lead weekly department meetings to discuss and execute department strategies. - Collaborate with Merchandise Planner on monthly Open To Buy meetings. - Merchant lead for weekly Monitor & React business meetings for your categories. - Attend and participate in weekly marketing meetings, voicing needs for your categories.   Requirements - College Degree in Business or Retail Management preferred. - 4+ years relevant work experience. - Proficient in Excel, Word & Microsoft Outlook. - Demonstrated ability to problem solve with laser focus on attention to detail. - Candidate should have strong understanding of customer needs and a consistent posture of customer-focus. - Proven ability to compile quantitative analysis, create insights and learnings, and translate into business opportunity. - Ability to interact and engage cross-functional teams with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. - Candidate should demonstrate ability to be organized and multi task while setting & executing priorities. - Candidate must have high degree of flexibility and a track record of quickly adapting to an ever-changing environment. - Candidate must display a positive, can-do attitude and must be an active team player.

Junior Assistant Merchandise Manager     Position Summary The Junior Assistant Merchandise Manager is accountable for departmental support, vendor set up and maintenance as well as various other sku creation projects and assignments, some in conjunction with the buyers within the merchandising organization.   Essential Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities - Assist Buyer in assortment curation and development. - Create SKUs. Upload, send, and track purchase orders. - Coordinate and maintain organization of product samples. - Assist in Line Review preparation by gathering pertinent line review samples and data. - Collect, organize & submit samples for photography for website, catalog, and PR efforts. - Interact with vendor community to request product information, samples, and other pertinent information. - Run sales reporting on ad-hoc basis for business. - Maintain return-to-vendor & vendor credit information. - Support buyer with damage issues; interact with inventory control. Internship – Digital Marketing Intern – Spring 2022   Position Summary This is an unpaid internship.  Applicants must be able to receive college credit. Weekly commitment: 25 hour/week The Digital Marketing Intern will support the Web & Marketing teams in all functions related to social media, public relations, marketing and other projects. The ideal candidate will have an academic focus in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. This position will be remote with regular mentor supervision and learnings with possibility of a few in-person days at our headquarters in the Chicago Loop.     Scope of Responsibilities and Learnings - Support in the management and maintenance of Paper Source digital marketing channels, including: email, paid social (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and SMS (text message) marketing - Assist with content needs related to email marketing, copywriting, SEO, product descriptions and more - Support ambassador outreach efforts, helping to targeting online influencers who can drive interest in the Paper Source brand, both online and at the local level - Support our Public Relations efforts with administrative tasks including media research, press archiving and communication and pitching needs - Conduct audits and research as needed   Qualifications - Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills; online writing experience preferred - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook - Effective organizational skills for managing multiple tasks at once - Experience working with data and analytics tools a plus - Career interest in social media, digital marketing, e-commerce and retail   Requirements - Must be at least 18 years of age and enrolled in your sophomore, junior or senior year at an accredited college or university - Must be able to receive college credit - Must have access to a computer and reliable internet - Previous internship experience in marketing a plus - Experience using Google docs, social media platforms, Zoom meetings
